1 What is it ?
GFile is a
file manager for Linux. It is based on
Gtk/
Gnome. It is in
developpement. If I have started this project,
it is because I haven't found file manager under Linux with a "tree" like
explorer under Windows 95. I found this usefull to visually know where you
are. The project started in august 1998.

Version 0.0.9 is out now.
It was so long that I have done a version. I still
have very few time for GFile right now. So I have
decide to put my last changes here so that if you want
to work on it or take part of it or learn with it you
could do it. This version is instable and not complete.
I try to put a configure script so now you will compile
by doing
./configure,
make and
make install.
If you want my own configuration (icons...) for a user, log on his
login and type
./user_install. In this version you will
find the begin of the french translation. The worst thing I hate
is that when moving files, GFile replace old files without
prompting when they already exists with the same name.
So be aware of GFile.
gfile-0.0.9.tar.gz 327 025 octets.
